CORAOPOLIS, PA. – Police say they’ve arrested 11 people from three states in a prostitution sting conducted using two vacant apartments near Pittsburgh International Airport.
Moon Township police say four people from Newark, Del., and one from Cleveland, Ohio, were among those arrested on prostitution or related charges Friday.
Police Chief Leo McCarthy says the apartment complex doesn’t have a problem with prostitution, though other apartment buildings, hotels and motels near the airport do. Detectives contacted people who advertised prostitution services on the Internet and arrested them at the apartments that police were allowed to use for the sting.
One couple, 48-year-old James Chappell, of Hanover Township, and 30-year-old Dafney Sienicki, of Burgettstown, also face child-endangerment charges because they had a 6-year-old with them at the time. Online court records don’t list attorneys for them.
