Yesterday’s severe snowstorm has impacted several campus operations today, including Dining Services, Retail Services, the shuttle and escort service and our campus grounds crew. Dining will be operating in a limited capacity today. More dining facilities will open as road conditions improve and as more dining personnel are able to report for work. The Bookstore, Computer Store and Art Store will be closed today.
The Shuttle and Escort Service has been suspended due to road conditions. Operations will resume on a limited basis when road conditions improve. Facilities Management Services crews are working and will continue to work through the weekend to clear roadways, pedestrian walkways and surface parking lots. They are also working to clear three trees that have fallen due to the heavy snowfall. These trees are located in front of Hamburg Hall, near the FMS Building and at the corner of Devon Road and Forbes Avenue.

A Fayette County high school teacher who received a 30-day unpaid suspension after someone posted photos of her with a male stripper to the Internet was told to return to work, effective today.
Brownsville Area School District Superintendent Dr. Philip J. Savini Jr. decided to recall the teacher after a closed-door executive session of the school board last night, said solicitor James Davis. Directors, who met for 90 minutes last night to discuss personnel and litigation, declined comment after the meeting.
Savini imposed the suspension, which was for 30 school days, after someone forwarded the photos to administrators.
School directors had earlier said the photos were taken at a bachelorette party. They said students, and some parents, saw the photos.

Members of the Brownsville Area School Board will meet in a closed-door session tonight to discuss their legal options regarding a teacher who was suspended after someone posted photos of her with a male stripper to an online social networking site.
Superintendent Philip J. Savini Jr. imposed the 30-day, unpaid suspension in January after someone forwarded photos taken at a December bachelorette party to administrators. According to several school directors, no students were present at the party, but some saw the photos.
The teacher is fully clothed in the photo that netted the suspension, but she is depicted with the stripper in a position suggestive of a sex act, according to school directors. Other teachers who were present, but not identifiable in the photos, received written reprimands.

Said he disclosed rental income he received from his Sewickley Hills home in the 1990s in mandatory filings with the state Supreme Court and State Ethics Commission. A review of those filings, however, shows Mr. Horgos did not.
Mr. Tarasi said his client was not required to disclose that type of rental income. However, the forms require judges to disclose rental income above a certain threshold.
“He might have made a mistake,” Mr. Tarasi said.
In statements filed in 2007 and 2008, Mr. Horgos declared rental income from a luxury condominium he owned in Naples in the Dunes II development, as well as one of the Charlotte County properties involved in the dispute with Mr. Sararo.
Socialized twice with Mr. Sararo in the “executive offices” of Club Erotica, a McKees Rocks strip club.

We never really know the character of Eli. He is devoutly religious but of questionable morals. He can hack-and-slash looters with effortless samurai finesse, but when a gang of bikers mercilessly beat and bully two innocent travelers on the road, he turns a blind eye. This butt-kicking prophet of God witnesses the deconstruction of a liberal, luxurious America to a grim, demoralized civilization. He witnesses the worst in humanity: violence, rape, looting and unjustified inequality. He is both pessimistic and optimistic in views; he believes in God but is not so naïve to disregard human error.
His travels and need for a repowered battery bring him to a decrepit town in the desert, where a self-designated tyrant of the town, Carnegie (Gary Oldman) uses his knowledge of the time before the war to take advantage of the people. He even bullies his blind wife Claudia (Jennifer Beals) and prostitutes his teenage stepdaughter Solara (Mila Kunis). He has charged his henchmen of highway bandits to bring him one book with which he can “sway the people” and even influence all of humanity. This book just so happens to be in Eli’s knapsack.

She was not the stripper on the photo. Someone else took and posted the picture of the teacher. She was in what school officials call a sexually suggestive pose with a male stripper. The teacher was fully clothed and no kids were present, but according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, which ran the story last week, some students saw the photo and notified school officials. The ACLU is looking into the case. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright National Public Radio.

Pennsylvania Teacher Suspended Over Private Photo With Stripper
A Pennsylvania teacher has been suspended over a private photo taken by someone else and uploaded to Facebook where the teacher appears in the photo with a stripper. Her name has not been released.
The Pennsylvania high school in the Brownsville Area School District said that the teacher was in a ‘provocative pose’ with a male stripper.
However the American Civil Liberties Union is coming to her defense as they say that the photo was taken at a private event, a bridal shower, and not during school time and was not uploaded to the site by the teacher.
But school board officials defend the 30-day suspension. They say others could face the same punishment if similar pictures of them are posted. Source: wcpo.com

… His status as a gentleman, leader, educator and good neighbor is truly inspirational; he is a great public servant and a role model for all to follow,” the proclamation states.
Calling him one of the “pillars of the community,” Mr. Futules said afterward that Mr. Kennedy “was just a good guy” for Oakmont. The man was everywhere, he said, from Seven Springs municipal outings to the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.
Mr. Kennedy still works as a Salvation Army bell ringer, bringing in almost $7,000 this past season. He is involved in the Lions Club annual variety show, which is entering its 55th year; the Rosedale-Verona Rotary; the Key Club; and the SADD Club. His other activities include Riverview Community Action Center, his church choir, Meals on Wheels and Presbyterian SeniorCare patient escort service.

The most well-known of the suspects is James O’Keefe, a 25-year-old whose hidden-camera expose posing as a pimp with his prostitute infuriated the liberal group ACORN and made him a darling of conservatives.
O’Keefe and suspect Joseph Basel, 24, formed their own conservative publications on their college campuses. A third suspect, Stan Dai, 24, served as editor of his university’s conservative paper and once directed a program aimed at getting college students interested in the intelligence field after 9/11.
And the fourth suspect, Robert Flanagan, 24, wrote for the conservative Pelican Institute and had recently criticized Landrieu for her vote on health care legislation. O’Keefe was a featured speaker at a Pelican Institute luncheon days before his arrest. Flanagan is the son of the acting U.S. Attorney for northern Louisiana.
…
Using a hidden camera last year, O’Keefe, posed as a pimp and brought a young woman posing as a prostitute to ACORN offices where staffers appeared to offer illegal tax advice and to support the misuse of public funds and illegal trafficking in children.
